The service
Outside work, same standard as inside
Most hard surfaces in Yorkshire go green long before they wear out. Algae, moss and general grime build up in the texture of the slab or block, and no amount of brushing shifts it — it needs proper pressure behind it.
We work the surface evenly rather than blasting stripes into it, which is the usual giveaway of a rushed job. On block paving we lift the growth out of the joints and then re-sand with kiln-dried sand, because washing a drive and leaving the joints empty is how blocks start to move.
We take the same care outside that we take inside — windows, doors and planting covered or rinsed down, and the mess washed off your path rather than left across it.

Guide prices for a typical domestic surface. Anything very large, very steep or heavily contaminated we’ll price after a photo or a look. Sealing is always quoted separately because it depends entirely on the surface.

Will jet washing damage my paving?
Not if the pressure is matched to the surface. Concrete and block take a lot; soft sandstone, old pointing and timber decking need a lighter touch. Getting that wrong is how people end up with a striped, pitted patio.
Do you re-sand block paving afterwards?
Yes, and it matters. Washing a block drive empties the joints — leave them empty and the blocks start to shift. We brush kiln-dried sand back in as part of the job.
Can you get rid of the green completely?
In almost every case, yes. What can stay behind is deep staining — oil, rust, paint or tyre marks — which may lighten rather than vanish. We’ll tell you what we think will shift before we start.
Do you need water and power from the house?
An outside tap and a socket is the easiest arrangement. Tell us when you book if you haven’t got either and we’ll sort it out beforehand.
How long does a driveway take?
Most domestic driveways are a few hours. Bigger areas, or anything that hasn’t been touched in years, take longer — we’d rather work it properly than get it half clean.
Should I have it sealed?
Sealing slows down the regrowth and holds the colour, so it buys you time before the next wash. It has to go on when the surface is properly dry, so it’s usually a separate return visit. We quote it per job.
