Questions
Common questions
Prices, access, scope, coverage and how booking works.
How much does a cleaner cost in Wakefield?
Our regular domestic clean is £18 an hour with a two-hour minimum, so a typical three-bed house works out around £54 a visit. One-off cleans are £22 an hour. Deep cleans and end of tenancy are done by a team of three at £40–£50 an hour for the team. Carpets, upholstery and ovens are fixed prices per item — the full list is on our price list.
Are your cleaners DBS-checked?
Yes, every cleaner on the team is DBS-checked, and we’re fully insured. You’re letting people into your home, often when you’re not there, so we think that’s the minimum rather than a selling point.
Do I have to be in while you clean?
No. Lots of our customers give us a key or a door code and come back to a finished house. Keys are logged and never labelled with an address.
What’s the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?
A regular clean maintains a house that’s already in decent order — surfaces, bathrooms, floors, kitchen. A deep clean resets a house: inside the oven and fridge, inside cupboards, grout, skirtings, door frames, behind appliances, window tracks. Deep cleans are done by three of us together so it’s finished in one visit.
Do you bring your own products and equipment?
We bring everything. If you’d rather we used your products — allergies, pets, a surface that needs something specific — just say and we’ll use yours.
How far do you travel?
Wakefield and everywhere round it as standard. For deep cleans, end of tenancy and commercial contracts we travel across Yorkshire. Check the areas page or just ring and ask.
Can you clean at the weekend or in the evening?
Often, yes — especially for commercial work and end of tenancy where the timing is fixed by someone else. Ask when you book and we’ll tell you what we’ve got.
What if I’m not happy with something?
Tell us quickly and we’ll come back and put it right. We’d far rather sort one room out than lose a customer over it.
Why do some of your reviews mention Trust Cleaner?
Because that was our name before we became Crystal Cleaners. Same team, same customers, same standard — and we’ve left those reviews exactly as they were written rather than editing the old name out.
How do I book?
Use the online booking form for an instant estimate and a time slot, or ring 01924 922927 and we’ll sort it on the phone. We confirm every booking by phone or text before it’s in the diary.
Do you clean at weekends?
Often, yes. Weekend slots go quickly and are more common for end of tenancy and commercial work than for regular domestic rounds.
Can I get the same cleaner every week?
That’s how we set most regular customers up. If your usual cleaner is off we’ll tell you who’s coming instead beforehand.
Do you clean windows?
Internal windows, sills and tracks yes — included in deep cleans and end of tenancy, and available as a £20 extra on a domestic clean. We don’t do external window cleaning.
What don’t you do?
We don’t do external windows, gutters, or anything needing ladders beyond normal step height. We won’t handle biohazard or extreme hoarding situations, and we won’t move heavy or fragile furniture without you there.
Are you insured?
Yes, we’re fully insured. If your letting agent or managing agent needs to see the paperwork before we start, ring us and we’ll send it over.
Do I need to tidy before you arrive?
For a regular clean, clearing surfaces helps us spend the time cleaning rather than moving things. For a deep clean or end of tenancy, the emptier the better.
What about pets?
Not a problem at all — tell us in the notes so whoever is coming knows what to expect when they open the door.
Can you take rubbish away?
We’ll bag household waste and put it out for collection. We’re not a waste carrier, so we can’t remove large amounts or bulky items.
Still not sure?
Ring us. No pressure, no sales pitch — we’ll just answer it.
